DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, October 18\, 2024\, the San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating its 22nd Annual Women in Leadership event at Sycuan Casino Resort. In 2003 the first Women in Leadership Luncheon (WILL) was launched with the idea of honoring women who excel professionally and as community leaders. The successful women of San Diego County\, along with our inspirational keynote speakers\, keep WILL growing year after year. The heart of WILL centers around each years' nominees: women who demonstrate exemplary character\, integrity\, and leadership. The roster of awardees over the past 21 years is a genuine San Diego honor roll. This year is sure to break records with keynote speaker Dr. Adela de la Torre\, President of San Diego State University\, emceed by KUSI's Lauren Phinney.\n\nAbout President de la Torre: Adela de la Torre became the first woman and first Chicana to serve as the permanently appointed president of San Diego State University in 2018. She guided the university in the launch of a strategic plan that aims to transform the lives of students\, amplify research and further engage SDSU?s communities in driving new opportunities and economic development. The foundation of her vision is the growth and development of SDSU as a university committed to teaching\, research and creativity\, and to expanded and inclusive access to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Under her leadership\, student success has grown markedly and the university has set new records in philanthropic giving\, athletic achievement\, external funding of research\, and national rankings.\n\nSPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES\n\nPARKING: Self-Parking is available in the parking structure. Valet is reserved for hotel guests and black card members.\n\nBAR: There will be a no-host bar. Cards and cash will be accepted.\n\nSUCCULENTS: WILL Committee Members will be selling succulents (1 for $30 / 2 for $50). When you purchase a succulent\, you will also receive a gift card with a minimum value of $25. Limited and sure to go fast!
