LOCATION:"More than just the Giant Lemon!" The Giant Lemon might be Lemon Grove's most famous landmark\, but there are new city placesetters throughout the downtown area. The Lemon Grove Historical Society is holding a History Alive to introduce East County residents to murals and their respective muralists who are helping to revitalize the city with the Best Climate on Earth. The Lemon Grove Historical Society has documented the murals and the muralists over the years\, many of whom still live in Lemon Grove. On August 1st at 8:00 a.m.\, the Lemon Grove Historical Society is inviting the public to come walk around and view its most prominent murals. Each mural will have either the muralist who painted it there or someone related to the project who can explain the mural and the history behind it. "This is a great opportunity for people to learn about the art of the city and to support the Lemon Grove Historical Society\," says Lemon Grove Historical Society Executive President Laura Hook. After viewing all of the murals\, the public is invited to the H. Lee House to ask and answer questions about the murals starting at 10 am. This allows those who may be unable to do the 1-mile loop to see all of the murals and still be able to learn about them and ask questions. This is a free event\, and families are encouraged.
