SUMMARY:Mind & Body Master Classes - Finding Peace During Life’s Waves
DESCRIPTION:Mind & Body Master Classes promote physical\, emotional\, and mental health within a compassionate community. These classes will explore ways to develop a deeper relationship with our wellbeing and others through engaging conversations\, experiential practices\, and learning practical tools for daily life. Led by an inspiring community of teachers\, coaches\, and speakers.\n\nThis mindfulness workshop is a great starting point for beginning a regular mindfulness practice or to inspire your current practice. Laurie will provide an experiential\, safe environment to practice these powerful tools that can help with reducing stress\, depression\, anxiety and many other chronic conditions. There will be plenty of time for questions and comments within the workshop.Note: Please bring a yoga mat\, and optional seating cushion. Chairs and small foam pads can be provided.\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor:\n\nI began practicing meditation in 1989. While it did help the depression I suffered from\, I was inconsistent with my practice. It was not until 2012\, when I developed Psoriatic Arthritis and hip dysplasia in both of my hips that caused me severe limitations in daily activities\, like walking\, that I knew I had to make a change. I found a therapist who specialized in mindfulness therapy and she recommended me looking into University of California\, San Diego's Center for Mindfulness. The first class I took was Mindful Self-Compassion and it changed my life. Every part of my body and mind told me that this was the way of facilitating true change in my life. I quickly realized that I wanted to share the insights I found through my mindfulness practice. Mindfulness changed and continues to change my life in profound and unexpected ways. I am now a certified teacher trained at University of California\, San Diego's Center for Mindfulness. My greatest joy is sharing these practices with people in hopes that it can change their life as it did mine.\n\n \n\nLaurie is Founder of Minding the Waves\n\nwww.Mindingthewaves.com
