About Us

The East County Economic Development Council (EDC) has effectively promoted the importance of a healthy, vital economic climate and quality of life since 1984.

East County EDC is an alliance of key representatives from business, community, education, government, and industry. We strive to promote successful business activity in the cities of El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Santee, and the unincorporated communities of Alpine, Lakeside, Rancho San Diego, and Spring Valley.

Economic growth and development is paramount to supporting the vibrant primary industry base in San Diego’s East County. We work to cultivate an innovative and sustainable region by bridging the gap between industry, education, government, and infrastructure.

Our job is to convene these disparate groups in order to craft an economic base that expands existing business, promotes new economic opportunities, and drives forward the initiatives of our stakeholders. We create a prosperous economic environment through innovative projects, purpose-driven collaboration, and assertive promotion.
