About Us

GHD Health & Wellness Library is supported by the Grossmont Healthcare District to meet the health information needs of local residents. It is a comprehensive consumer health library that is free, open to the public, and accessible via the internet.

The Library provides access to the latest medical information from authoritative and reliable sources, in both print and electronic formats. The collection includes books, journals, newsletters, pamphlets, DVDs, models, charts, online computer databases, and its website with extensive links covering all major health topics.

The Health & Wellness Library is open to the public, and offers many free services. It has 10 public computers (8 PCs and 2 iMacs). Library cards are issued with appropriate ID to community residents as well as those who work, go to school, or have health-related ties to the Grossmont Healthcare District (East County region of San Diego).

The staff is trained to help users find materials to satisfy their health information needs. For those who want to find basic health information online and are confused where to start, go to our Reliable Health Links page and click on MedlinePlus or one of the other websites linked there.
