About Us

At the San Diego Rescue Mission, our goal is to get people off the streets permanently. We can’t do this without the support of the community. Volunteers, corporations, churches, and private donors make it possible to transform the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness.

Our programs are designed not only to meet the immediate, tangible necessities of those who come to us in need, but also to address the underlying issues of the heart. This is how lives are transformed, impacting San Diego County one life at a time.

San Diego is the 8th largest city in the United States, but 5th largest for homelessness. It’s clear that homelessness is our #1 issue.

Every night, thousands of men, women and children in San Diego County don’t have a place to call home. The reasons they experience homelessness may surprise you:

- Losing a job or a loved one
- Rising rent prices
- Health issues and battles with addiction
- Struggling as a single parent to make ends meet

Thanks to your support, our neighbors experiencing these challenges have a place to turn for immediate help and long-term healing: San Diego Rescue Mission.

In our programs, we create a holistic approach to recovery and rehabilitation while ensuring that our building is a safe haven for men, women and children who have experienced homelessness.
