AUGUST Harassment Classes Offered through Corporate College

By January 1, 2020, an employer having five or more employees must provide at least two hours of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all supervisory employees and at least one hour of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all non-supervisory employees in California within six months of their assumption of a position.

Join us for one of our campus-based classes, there are separate sessions for supervisory and non-supervisory staff.  Classes are held at Grossmont College.

Supervisory Training $25   Non-Supervisor Training $10

Dates: July 17  sessions at 3:00 pm, 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm
                August 30  sessions at 8:30 am, 9:30 am 10:30 am  

Both options meet SB1343 training requirements and include questions that assess learning, skill-building activities to assess understanding and application of content and hypothetical scenarios about harassment with discussion questions.
 

Corporate College's trainer has over 31 years of experience as a corporate trainer, curriculum developer, and business consultant.  He is fluent in both Spanish and English languages. Training expertise includes customer service, preventing sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace, strategic planning process, leadership and management development programs, and general health and safety training.  
 

Content covered in this training: The definition of sexual harassment under the Fair Employment and Housing Act and Title VII of the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964;The statutes and case-law prohibiting and preventing sexual harassment; The types of conduct that can be sexual harassment; The remedies available for victims of sexual harassment; Strategies to prevent sexual harassment; Supervisors’ obligation to report harassment; Practical examples of harassment; The limited confidentiality of the complaint process; Resources for victims of sexual harassment, including to whom they should report it; How employers must correct harassing behavior; What to do if a supervisor is personally accused of harassment; The elements of an effective anti-harassment policy and how to use it; “Abusive conduct” under Government Code section 12950.1, subdivision (g)(2). Discuss harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, which shall include practical examples inclusive of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
