It is difficult, if not impossible, to think of a relationship of any type that does not encounter disagreements at one time or another.  Unless relationships can withstand the stress involved in their inevitable conflicts, they are not likely to endure.  This can be counterproductive to the achievement of goals. 
Using the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Instrument, individuals will identify their preferred approach to dealing with conflict, learn conflict management skills, understand the five basic styles for handling conflict, and implement conflict resolution steps which assist in preserving relationships.
