Life Skills Coach / Community Support Professional
Part-Time | Flexible Schedule | $18-$20/hour | San Diego & Imperial Counties

Home of Guiding Hands is hiring compassionate, dependable people to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build independence, learn new skills, and become active members of their communities.

his is not a desk job. Every day is different. You might help someone learn how to budget their money, shop for groceries, cook a meal, attend a community event, volunteer, exercise, or work toward personal goals.
No experience? That's okay. If you enjoy helping others, are patient, reliable, and want meaningful work, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do:
• Help adults build everyday life skills and become more independent
• Support clients with budgeting, shopping, cooking, and household tasks
• Accompany clients to appointments, community activities, classes, and volunteer opportunities
• Encourage social connections and community involvement
• Help clients work toward personal goals and celebrate their successes
• Document progress and communicate with the support team
• Travel throughout San Diego or Imperial County to meet clients in their homes and community settings

What We're Looking For:
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid California driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Good driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Comfortable using email, text messages, and basic online systems
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently

Bonus Points For:
• Experience supporting people with disabilities, special needs, seniors, youth, or other vulnerable populations
• Volunteer, caregiving, education, behavioral health, or social services experience
