   The Foothills Art Association invites everyone to enjoy “Art in the Park” an art show and sale at MacArthur Park in La Mesa on Sunday, June 10 (11 am – 4 pm).  Many local artists will be displaying and selling their artwork during a festive day in La Mesa’s newest community park. See the art, listen to the music, bring a picnic lunch, and enjoy a family day at MacArthur Park.
   MacArthur Park, the location of the “Art in the Park” event, was re-dedicated as a public park in La Mesa last year. It had previously been home to the Sun Valley Golf Course, a nine-hole public golf course since 1954. The 13-acre golf course, which was adjacent to La Mesa’s 22-acre community park at 4975 Memorial Drive and near the Foothills Gallery, closed in June 2017 and was then re-opened as public parkland in October 2017.
